Introductory text
When it was exhibited at the 1955 auto show, the DS clearly stood out and its aerodynamic lines attracted attention. Its profile as a "drop of water", designed by Flaminio Bertoni, clearly distinguished it from the other vehicles presented during the same year. This futuristic aspect earned DS the nickname "Flying Saucer" (or "Star of the show").
